New York, New York – February 1, 2017 – Meister Seelig & Fein LLP today announced that it has
recruited Michael R. Ertel as a Partner in its Intellectual Property Group to expand the firm's intellectual
property litigation practice to include pharmaceutical litigation under the Hatch-Waxman Act.
Ertel, a registered patent attorney with more than 15 years of experience in all aspects of intellectual
property, concentrates his practice in the area of Hatch-Waxman litigation on behalf of generic
pharmaceutical companies. Such clients also retain Ertel to represent them in proceedings before the
United States Patent and Trademark Office. He comes to the firm from the New York office of Texasbased
Haynes and Boone.
The addition of Ertel significantly bolsters the firm's Life Sciences practice. "Mike's Hatch-Waxman
expertise adds new depth to our ability to service our generic pharmaceutical clients," said MSF

Ertel's experience includes a successful four-week Hatch-Waxman trial involving a pharmaceutical
product with more than $6 billion in annual sales. He has also successfully handled a broad range of
other Hatch-Waxman litigations and PTO proceedings covering numerous therapeutic categories,
including proton pump inhibitors, antipsychotics, antibiotics, antineoplastic agents, aromatase inhibitors,
hypnotic agents, partial dopamine agonists, anti-thrombotic agents, and chemotherapy agents.
