Overview
Andrea M. Brodie is currently a Partner at Meister Seelig & Schuster, PLLC, and is part of the Matrimonial and Family Law practice. Her professional journey has been marked by a strong dedication to family and matrimonial cases, with notable prior experience gained at two prominent family law firms.
During her time in law school, Ms. Brodie gained valuable experience through internships with Hon. Jeffrey S. Brown at the Nassau County Supreme Court Matrimonial Center, Hon. Conrad D. Singer at the Nassau County Family Court, and the Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Additionally, she represented children in abuse and neglect cases and handled special immigrant matters in Nassau and Queens Family Courts as part of Hofstra’s Child Advocacy Clinic.
Ms. Brodie is an active member of various legal organizations and associations. She has contributed significantly to the Nassau County Bar Association, previously held the position of President at the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association and is an active member of the New York Family Law American Inn of Court. Ms. Brodie has also co-chaired the Steven J. Eisman New Lawyer/Judiciary Relations Task Force alongside Hon. Jeffrey Goodstein for the Nassau County Bar Association. She has an extensive history of involvement, including serving as the co-chair of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association’s Matrimonial and Family Law Committee from 2011 to 2015, and as an advisory member of the Nassau Academy of Law from 2012 to 2017. She previously chaired the Nassau County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Committee and held positions on the Nassau County Bar Association Board of Directors, both as an appointed Director and as Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee. In addition, Ms. Brodie actively participates in the Matrimonial Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association and serves on various other committees within these organizations.
Ms. Brodie’s dedication to her field has been recognized with several awards and accolades. She was honored as one of Long Island Business News’ 40 Under 40 in 2018, and recognized in 2017 by Hofstra University School of Law as an Outstanding Woman in Law. She has also received distinctions such as 40 Stars Under 40 by Star Network (The Queens Courier) in 2016 and Top 40 Under 40 by The National Advocates from 2015 to 2017. Furthermore, Ms. Brodie has consistently been recognized as a “Rising Star” in New York Family Law by “Super Lawyers” since 2013 and has been designated as a Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” for Family Law from 2021 onward. Her contributions to the field have been further acknowledged with the Bessie Ray Geffner Memorial Award from the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association in June 2012 and the 2012-2013 Young Alumni Award from the Honors College at the University of Arizona.
Ms. Brodie earned her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, where she received a Concentration and Citation of Excellence in Child and Family Advocacy. Her undergraduate education was completed at the University of Arizona, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude as an inducted member of the scholastic honorary societies, Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi, and held the prestigious titles of President and Provost Scholar. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the District of Columbia.
