Mark Seelig, co-founder and chairman of Meister Seelig & Fein, which last week celebrated its 30th anniversary since formation, has been actively growing the Firm’s presence on Long Island while staying committed to giving back to his roots. Mark (and his spouse, Valerie (90’)), both Long Island natives, are proud graduates of Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra, along with 10 of Mark’s MSF colleagues.
Mark and Valerie strongly value the impact of education and continue their commitment to Hofstra Law by contributing to the growth and excellence of the school. Their confidence in the power of education led them to establish a permanent endowment in 2017, aimed at providing scholarships for promising students who may need financial assistance to fulfill their dreams of becoming a lawyer.
Directly seeing the benefits to scholarship recipients has motivated Mark and Valerie to further their contributions. This year, they are encouraging fellow alumni to join them in supporting opportunities for future students to be able to attend Hofstra Law. They have pledged to donate another $100,000 to Hofstra Law for a second permanent endowment with the hope that the alumni community raises an additional $50,000.
If you are a fellow Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra alum and want to learn more about how you can contribute, please see below:
How Can You Help?
- Pay It Forward: Remember the late nights in the library, the camaraderie in the hallways, and the professors who ignited our passion? By giving, we ensure that future generations of students have access to the same exceptional education.
- Enhance Programs: Our donations will directly support scholarships, programs, clinics and centers, and campus improvements. Whether it’s funding a cutting-edge program or providing financial aid to a deserving student, every dollar counts.
- Act Now & Donate. The Challenge campaign will last two months, and the clock is ticking. This is an opportunity for you to make a one-time gift or create your lasting legacy with an endowment.
- How to Contribute? Visit the dedicated donation page to make your gift.
Please feel free to reach out directly to Nadege Boisson Pardo, Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations, at Nadege.BoissonPardo@hofstra.edu if you have any questions or would like to discuss this further.
Let’s rally together, honor our shared memories, and invest in the future. Imagine the possibilities if each of us gives even a small amount. Together, we will turn $50,000 into $150,000 for our beloved law school.
