Overview
Christian Browne is Of Counsel at MSF with the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Litigation Groups. He focuses his practice on litigation, zoning and land use planning, municipal law, and real estate transactions. He represents clients in complex litigation matters, including constitutional claims, commercial and real estate disputes, and Article 78 proceedings, in both federal and state courts. He also handles zoning and land use applications across Long Island and New York City.
Mr. Browne began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan (New York County) and has been in private practice since 2007. He has held various government-related roles, including serving on the staff of the 1999 New York City Charter Revision Commission and as Deputy Director of City Legislative Affairs under Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.
Mr. Browne currently serves as general counsel to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre (Long Island). He is a member of the board of Aid to the Church in Need USA, an organization based in Brooklyn that provides financial and material assistance to Christian communities throughout the world suffering from war, persecution and natural disasters.
Admitted to practice in New York State since 2005, Mr. Browne is also authorized to appear before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
