Overview
Michelle Katz is an Associate in the Matrimonial & Family Law Group at Meister Seelig & Fein PLLC. She completed her J.D. at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she served as Notes Editor for the Family Court Review and had consistently earned a place on the Dean’s List. Ms. Katz has held leadership roles, including serving as the Past President of the Family Law Society and as a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council.
Ms. Katz’s legal experience is diverse and rooted in family law. As a Legal Intern at the Hofstra Youth Advocacy Clinic, she represented immigrant children and youth in Family and Immigration Courts, ensuring safe placements, defending clients against deportation, and assisting them in obtaining lawful immigration status. In Spring 2024, she gained further experience as a Summer Associate at MSF, working on various family law matters.
Ms. Katz has also interned with a NYC Boutique Matrimonial Law Firm, where she worked with high-net-worth clients on complex matrimonial and custody issues. Additionally, she has served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Justice Joseph R. Conway at the New York State Supreme Court Matrimonial Center and as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Justice Edmund M. Dane, gaining valuable insights into matrimonial law.
She holds a B.S. in Labor and Employment Relations from The Pennsylvania State University, where she graduated with honors.
