Mitchell Schuster and Kevin Fritz help win a major victory as court dismisses majority of claims in federal lawsuit
Meister Seelig & Schuster, PLLC announces a decisive ruling in the matter of Lively v. Wayfarer Studios LLC, et al., pending in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
On April 2, 2026, the Court issued an Opinion and Order on defendants’ motions for judgment on the pleadings and summary judgment, granting the motions in substantial part and dismissing the overwhelming majority of plaintiff’s claims.
The Court dismissed key allegations, including claims for sexual harassment, defamation, and numerous statutory and common law causes of action. Only a narrow subset of claims remains, limited to alleged retaliation and breach of contract related theories against certain entities.
